Shinnosuke Aikawa (相川 進之介, Aikawa Shinnosuke) is a first-year student currently attending Yezo Agricultural High School, where he is a member of their Holstein Club.

Personality & Character

Shinnosuke is a kind person and very easy to get along with. Shinnosuke's goal is to become a veterinarian however, he first has to overcome his tendency to faint at the sight of blood, and his dilemma with the practice of euthanasia on animals. Despite his tendency to faint at the sight of blood Shinnosuke works hard to overcome this because being a veterinarian is his dream, at one point he even watched a video in class about the slaughterhouse even though the teacher said it was not mandatory.

He later continues to work on his problems with blood by going with the class to watch the pigs they raised and paid for be slaughtered and inspected. It was a great learning experience about how veterinarians are also incredibly necessary to livestock meat processing. At one point he was getting woozy from watching, but was able to continue after Keiji Tokiwa brought him a chair.

Skills & Abilities

He excels in biology, able to participate in discussions on college level or above conversations to due with scientific studies on cattle. This is later reinforced when Hachiken compares hims subject scores with everyone, being second only to Aikawa who got full marks in biology and animal husbandry.

While only seen in the context of struggling, one of his main skills is definitely his determination. From the very beginning, as mentioned above, we know Aikawa is horrible at dealing with blood. We constantly see him working to overcome this. His determination also shines when trying to get into college. Him and Aki Mikage both work very hard all three years to try and earn recommendations

Image & Appearance

Shinnosuke has blonde hair that falls messily on his neck. His hair is longer than most of the other male students. He has a tall and slender build, though he is still shorter than Ichiro. Shinnosuke's eyes are always shut, and he usually has a smile on his face.

• Aikawa has similar facial features to Ling Yao from Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiromu Arakawa's other work.
