The Old Castle

The Old Castle is alongside of the Li River opposite the main Niaowu Harbor in Niaowu, Guilin.

Shenmue III[]

Ryo learns that Shenhua is held captive by the Chi You Men and they have taken over The Old Castle as their base. It can only be accessed via boat, in which Shiling Lin & Qiu Hsu agrees to assist Ryo with - Ren also gathers Shiling Lin & Qiu Hsu to accompany them.

Aftet crossing the Li River, Ryo & Ren proceed. Ryo finds Yunshen Yuan locked up in a cell, to where Chai leaps in to confront Ryo, only to be taken down and have his keys removed. After the cell door is unlocked Xianzi Bei escorts Yunshen Yuan and another prisoner to the boat.

Ryo & Ren proceed on to find Niao Sun spread out on a rich sofa - Ryo soon realises the resemblance to Feng Li but demands to know where Shenhua is. A man escorts Shenhua into view keeping a knife close to her throat. Niao Sun demands the Phoenix Mirror. Ren is about to supply a fake but Ryo hands over the authentic version. Shenhua is released from danger and returns to the boat.

Niao Sun tells Ryo that Lan Di is further ahead towards the main area of the castle through a path of deadly martial artists. Ryo & Ren both clear a path to find Longqi Ge waiting at the top of the staircase. After a tough fight, Ryo manages to defeat Longqi Ge with the Reverse Body Check he learnt before.

Reunited with Ren, the two stride further towards another battle. Then after kicking the door down to his chamber they find Lan Di. After disposing of a couple of his Henchmen Ryo and Lan Di fight for real. Throughout the entire battle Ryo cannot land a single attack on Lan Di! After a brief encounter Ren steps in to strike Lan Di only to be countered with a staggering kick. Lan Di grapples Ryo, twisting his arm has he leans him towards an open fire - the building on the verge of collapse from the sabotage from Niao Sun, also betraying Lan Di. Ren recovers and shows Lan Di the false Phoenix Mirror, offering it to Lan Di if he lets Ryo go. Lan Di loosens his grip on Ryo but shortly after Ren chucks the false Phoenix Mirror out the window. With Lan Di distracted, Ren & Ryo escape.

Ryo, Ren. Shenhua, Xianzi Bei, Yunshen Yuan, Shiling Lin & Qiu Hsu are standing by the dock watching The Old Castle ablaze.
