What you’ll need to get started
In order to complete your registration, make sure you have access to:
  • Email address unique to Amazon.co.za (not linked to another Amazon selling or customer account)
  • Chargeable credit / debit card
  • Company Registration Number (if you have a registered business)
  • Phone number
  • Proof of identity (passport, national ID, or driver's license)
  • Proof of address (bank statement or credit card statement)
How much does it cost to sell with Amazon?
Our standard selling fees provide you with access to a package of Amazon tools and programmes. They’re divided into two basic types: selling plan fees and referral fees.
In addition to selling fees, you might have added costs if you use certain optional tools and programmes like Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) or Amazon Ads. Ultimately, you get to control the cost of selling in the Amazon store by selecting the programmes, tools, and services that are right for your business. Learn more on Seller Central.

How to list products

What you need to start listing products
In most cases, products must have a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), such as a UPC, an ISBN, or an EAN. Amazon uses these product IDs to identify the exact item you’re selling. If you match a listing, you won’t need to provide a product ID since it already exists. If you’re adding a product that’s new to Amazon, you may need to purchase a UPC code or request an exemption.

In addition to a product ID, here’s some of the important information that goes into each product listing:
  • SKU ("stock keeping unit" you create to track your own inventory)
  • Product title
  • Product description and bullet points
  • Product images
  • Search terms and relevant keywords

How to deliver products

Each shipping and fulfilment method has its own set of benefits—you decide which one is right for your business.
Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) – If you offer best-selling products that are competitive, or do not have a warehousing facility, opt for FBA. Amazon will pick, pack, and ship your orders, as well as handle your returns and customer service.
Merchant-fulfilled network – These options include Amazon Easy Ship, where you store and pack your products, and Amazon delivers them to customers, and self ship, where you store, pack, and deliver your products to customers. Learn more on Seller Central.
