Traveling to Macao
By Air
Macau International Airport operates 24 hours a day, you may take a direct or connecting flight to Macau International Airport. There are direct flights available from Taiwan, Japan and major China cities to Macau. In addition, a helicopter service flies directly from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to Macau. An airport ferry service is available for passengers traveling to Macau via Hong Kong International Airport. You can arrive in or depart from Macau via Hong Kong International Airport as a transit stop without having to pass through Hong Kong Customs and Immigration formalities and also without the inconvenience of carrying their luggage to the Ferry Terminal. Please tell the staff that your final destination is Macau and do not enter Hong Kong at the time of boarding procedures at the departing airport.
By Sea
You can travel to Macao by sea via Shun Tak Centre (Sheung Wan, Hong Kong), Hong Kong International Airport, China Ferry Terminal (Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong), Shekou (Shenzhen), and Fu Yong Ferry Terminal (Shenzhen Airport). It is recommended to take Cotai Water Jet to the conference hotel.
By Land
Land crossings from Mainland China are made through the Border Gate on Macau Peninsula and the Lotus Bridge in Cotai. The Kee Kwan Motor Road Co. and China Travel Service (Macao) Ltd. operate a roundtrip air-conditioned bus service from major cities in Guangdong Province to Macau. The buses arrive at Gongbei Port in Zhuhai, from where you may go through the checkpoints at Gongbei Port and Border Gate to Macau.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
The 55-km Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is a bridge-tunnel system that connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau. For SANER attendees traveling to Macau via Hong Kong International Airport, you can get to the Terminal 1/Terminal 2 of the Hong Kong Airport and take airport buses to Hong Kong Port. Similar to Airport, take your valid passport and pass the security check, Immigration and Customs in the Passenger Clearance Building in the Hong Kong Port. Then, you can buy tickets to Macau at the shuttle bus ticket counters and ticket vending machines in the restricted area of the Departure Hall on 1/F. After you have arrived to Macau Port, you can take taxi to the conference venue.

Transportation around Macao
Bus and taxi services are the main public transportation in Macau. To ride a bus around the city is convenient and inexpensive. Local buses are modern and air-conditioned. Taxis are another convenient alternative. If you want to try something a little different, you can hire a tricycle, bicycle or car to see the sights.
Bus
Public buses run frequently throughout Macau Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane including Macau International Airport. Buses have onboard stop notifications in Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese and English. You can also bring a map to better locate your destination.
Taxis
Taxis in Macau are in black with a cream roof. They are metered, relatively cheap, air-conditioned and clean. Taxis are usually easily hailed along the street, and you can also queue at a hotel.
