an Andre’ Puyans nymph fly pattern using the recipes and instructions in The Founding Flies by Mike Valla and The Book of Fly Patterns by Eric Leiser

Hook: #10 - 18 nymph, weighted
Thread: gray
Tail: blue dun hackle barbs
Wing casing: bronze mallard, tied in with clipped butts by the tips pointing toward the tail
Rib: small wire: gold, brass, or copper on abdomen only
Abdomen: dark muskrat fur, dubbed
Thorax: dark muskrat fur, dubbed
Legs: three butt ends on each side from tied in wing case, folded back along thorax
Head: dark muskrat fur, dubbed (alternatively; lacquered thread)

Head cement recipe:
Goop
Xylene (epoxy thinnner)

Instructions:
Fill a quart jar half full with Xylene
Squeeze a tube of Goop into the Xylene
Shake until the Goop is dissolved; add Xylene to desired consistency

Apply with a pin or needle dipped in the liquid
