GM Motorsports has confirmed new appointments to the leadership group of Cadillac Racing, including the addition of a technical director and a propulsion manager for its top-tier prototype racing efforts.
“Motorsports remains a key platform for General Motors to hone engineering and leadership skills in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment and make the company stronger,” the company said in a statement. “To further support its IMSA and WEC programs, GM Motorsports is rolling out a new Cadillac Racing leadership structure. The moves reflect the level of resources and investment that GM is making in its global motorsports initiatives.”
As confirmed in October, Keely Bosn will join Cadillac Racing as the program manager, replacing Laura Wontrop Klauser in overseeing the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship programs.
Cadillac Racing has appointed Xavier Marcos Padros as its new technical director, who will focus on all aspects of engineering, car performance, and development. Padros worked as a race engineer in Formula 1 since 2018, most recently for Scuderia Ferrari with Charles Leclerc.
Padros previously worked at HRT and Williams as a performance engineer, and then was chief race engineer for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series from 2015-2017.
Sean O’Shea has joined Cadillac Racing as the propulsion manager, and will focus on performance and development of the 5.5-liter Cadillac V8 engine and spec electric motor component. Before joining GM, O’Shea began his racing career working with Bosch Motorsport and Mazda’s ‘Go Diesel’ program.
He joined GM in 2015, contributing to high-profile projects including advanced military applications and innovative propulsion systems. Most recently, he was the engineering manager for the Chevrolet Blazer EV police, the first pursuit-rated electric vehicle.
