Our Story

Chapter 1 (part 1) Newly married, and only days after her arrival in India, Reene travels by train from Bombay to Ludhiana, and recalls her journey by ship from England.

Chapter 1 (part 2) John meets Reene at the port of Bombay and they are married the next day.

Chapter 2. In 1870 Thomas Gilbert finds a job in Folkstone in the docks and together with his wife Susanne raise their three sons, George, Frank and Philip.

Frank Gilbert, as a sixteen year old, starts his apprenticeship as a sign writer in London, and soon gets an opportunity to work on a job on Saltwood castle in Hythe. It's there that Frank meets Olive Brown and their lives together begin. Through the Browns, Frank is introduced to church and finds his faith in Jesus.
