Updating the Eater Heatmap: Where to Eat Right Now

View as Map

More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends and family of Eater have one question: Where should I eat right now? What are the new restaurants? What's everyone talking about? While the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the 'it' places of the moment.

Thus, we offer the Eater Heat Map, which will change continually to always highlight where the foodie crowds are flocking to at the moment. New to the map this time around: High Street on Market from Ellen Yin and Eli Kulp, the stunningly beautiful Ashton Cigar Bar, and another Avram Hornik resurrection in South Broad Street's Boot & Saddle.

Have any suggestions? Any vital omissions? Leave 'em in the comments or send 'em down the tipline.

Pizzeria Vetri

It's only a few months until Pizzeria Vetri lands on the Eater 38, so for now it'll just have to stay warm on the Heatmap. Philly's pizza game is huge right now.

Han Dynasty

They just moved into their new space at 123 Chestnut Street, and the relocation has breathed new life into the Han Dynasty vibe.

Nomad Roman

Yes, another pizza joint makes the list. The Nomad crew opened a Roman-style shop at 1305 Locust Street, and it's fantastic. We'll be happy to put some non-pizza shops on the list when a bad one opens up.

High Street on Market

High Street on Market replaced Fork:etc. and that means more Eli Kulp and Ellen Yin amazingness. Early reports are fantastic, which is no surprise.

Little Nonna's

Marcie Turney and Val Safran's Little Nonna's is finally open and ready to put some meat on those bones. An ode to Italian grandmother food, this place is going to be a huge hit.

After a very long wait, Serpico opened to great fanfare and has been an almost impossible reservation. Early reports have been excellent, and it has taken the crown as Philly's most beautiful restaurant.

Artisan Boulanger Patissier

Artisan Boulanger just opened up the doors at their new location, and it's fantastic. They've added more prepared foods (sushi, anyone?)and a bunch of new pastries (yes, that means cronuts)to the menu.
Joncarl Lachman's Noord has made a big splash on East Passyunk, and has become an instant classic. From herring sandwiches to rotisserie chicken and smoked fish, he's got Northern European cuisine covered.
