HITCH HIghlighTs CHanges between two sets of HTML pages in red.
Version 1b1:
- Rewritten and simplified.
Version 1b0:
- Uses SLIB word compare rather than (line) diff. This produces precise comparison unaffected by text reformatting.
- Command line option "-c" controls number of words of context highlighted.
Version 1a2:
- New text following a new header is not highlighted (but header is).
INFOBAR annotates changes between INFO files with change-bars.
Version 1a3
- Don't put bars on lines beginning with *.
- Quoted filename arguments to diff.
What is INFO? It is one of the documentation formats produced from Texinfo files.

Quick Start

Obtain SCM Scheme Implementation.
Obtain SLIB Scheme Library.
Obtain infobar1a3.scm (5.kB) and install in PATH directory as "infobar".
Obtain hitch1b2.scm (8.kB) and install in PATH directory as "hitch".

What do HITCH and INFOBAR do?

Here is an example info page from scm5c4.info. The subsequent version, scm5c5.info changed the name of a cross-reference, corrected a grammatical error, and shifted spaces in three function headers.

Notice all the changes? Here is a regular diff, space-ignoring diff, context diff, and space-ignoring context diff to help.

infobar scm5c4.info scm5c5.info scm.info

Creates scm.info, with change bars in the rightmost column (you may need to pan your browser) marking the cross-reference and grammatical change; not the spacing changes.

hitch scmprev/scm_\*.html scm_\*.html ../public_html/

Creates scm_6.html with the same changed sections colored red; and appends a line explaining the colorization.
