Wichita Art Museum
The Wichita Art Museum, located in Wichita, Kansas, was founded in 1935 and is the largest art museum in the state. The museum’s collection features over 10,000 works of art, with a strong emphasis on American art from the 19th and 20th centuries. Highlights of the collection include pieces by Mary Cassatt, Edward Hopper, and Thomas Eakins. The museum is situated in a modern building with an expansion designed by architect Edward Larrabee Barnes, which includes spacious galleries, a glass-enclosed entrance pavilion, and a sculpture garden. Additionally, the museum houses the Roland P. Murdock Collection, a notable collection of American art gifted by the Murdock estate. Read more about Museums.
