There will be no more courts slathered in neon paint, no more scoreboard watching for soccer-style point differentials, no more lifeless neutral-site affairs.

The NBA Cup concluded Tuesday night with the Bucks prevailing over the Thunder. Though Adam Silver has implored everyone to find enhanced meaning in an event created by the snap of his fingers, Bucks players understood their in-season triumph didn’t warrant excessive celebration, ignoring the champagne boxes provided by the NBA as their focus turned to more meaningful games ahead.

“It’s tough,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers said. “You come out of this and you’re back to the grind.”
