JELL-O releases inflatable ‘mold’ chair to make all your ‘80s dorm room dreams come true

This one’s about to blow up.

JELL-O has been known as one of America’s most traditional, comforting desserts for generations — now, the brand is breaking out of the mold and getting into the home decor game.

Aimed squarely at nostalgic types who either had an inflatable chair in their childhood bedroom or college dorm room or wish they’d had one, the new Jelly Collection by JELL-O features four bright and colorful pieces, which come in lemon, lime, strawberry and orange.

Those are the four most popular flavors, according to manufacturer Kraft Heinz.

“For over 150 years, JELL-O has been at the heart of joyful family moments, big and small,” Tyler Parker, Brand Manager of Desserts at the company said in a written statement.

“With The Jelly Collection, we’re not just celebrating our rich history; we’re bringing it to life for today’s families. By blending our heritage with a modern twist, we’re inviting consumers to embrace the playful spirit that has made JELL-O a beloved favorite for generations,” Parker said.

The chair costs $30 and is available on Amazon for a limited time only, Kraft Heinz stated.

The eye-catching pieces, designed to resemble a classic ridged JELL-O mold, come as Gen Z and Millennials drive a resurgence of interest in inflatables, according to Pinterest Predicts — inspired by jellyfish, the trendspotters explained.

Each chair comes complete with a built-in cup holder.

JELL-O is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, reportedly claiming the #1 spot in the refrigerated desserts category, which has seen a growth of +33.2% over the past five years, according to statistics published by Kraft Heinz.

The brand enjoyed a viral moment earlier this year when actor Rainn Wilson of the US version of “The Office” posted a photo that showed a prank an Italian hotel had played on him while traveling, encasing his room service table setting in JELL-O.

The surprise stunt was reportedly meant as a callback to a memorable prank played on the show, where office implements were encased in the jiggly sweet treat.
