The Issue: The Democratic National Convention being held in Chicago this week.
Former President Barack Obama hasn’t lost a step since he left the Oval Office in January 2017 (“ ‘Brutus’ Bam praises Biden,” Aug. 21).
His speeches are as long-winded, condescending and tedious now as back then.
He likes to bloviate, preen and preach as though he’s offering America’s sinners salvation of some sort.

Are we really surprised that former First Lady Michelle Obama peddled another rant at the DNC, essentially claiming that if anyone opposed Harris then they might be influenced by misogyny and racism?
After all, she was part of the divisiveness under the eight years her husband was president.
She once said, “When they go low, we go high,” yet she wasted no time getting dirty on Tuesday night in Chicago.

It was wonderful to see Barack and Michelle Obama deliver speeches at the Democratic National Convention.
If ever there was an argument for allowing a third term for a president, it would be Obama.
He and his wife are perfect examples of leadership.

Kudos to The Post for putting into words what American voters already know (“Dems’ Only, Angry Message,” Editorial, Aug. 21).
The Democratic National Convention in Chicago is indeed an attempt to fake out all of us.
Nothing of consequence is going to happen at the convention. No delegates are going to truly be “voting.”
The ticket has been ordained by the party bigwigs since the moment that they finished off President Biden with that coup. It is nothing but fake news.
Vice President Kamala Harris is a committed socialist and Gov. Tim Walz is even further to her left. Neither candidate represents mainstream America.
Their whole strategy is to keep former President Donald Trump from getting the keys back to the White House. That’s it, pure and simple.

The DNC seems to be all about former President Trump and the “horrible” Republicans.
I thought that the reason for the convention was to pump up the candidate who will be running for president of the United States?
Instead, every speaker so far has focused on Trump’s policies and agenda. The Dems have no agenda other than demonizing Trump.

It seems to me that the Dems cannot tell us why we should vote for them without bashing former President Donald Trump.
But what does the party actually have to offer voters?

It’s no surprise the Democrats chose Chicago, which effectively showcased their party’s failures in big American cities (“Ill wind blowing through Chicago,” Miranda Devine, Post Opinion, Aug. 19).
Chicago had 617 murders last year, a soft-on-crime district attorney who seems to not care about the city’s rampant robberies and a mayor who welcomes migrants in his sanctuary city but does not know how to deal with them.

Regarding Devine’s article on Chicago, I think someone once said: Voters get the government they deserve. Let’s hope that voters nationally are a little more thoughtful.
