Beloved by slipper testers, book editors, and Zappos executives alike, Glerups’s open-heeled slippers have been a Strategist favorite for years. We first wrote about them back in 2017, when we tested a bunch of the most popular wool slippers and declared Glerups to be “all-around the most comfortable.” (Our tester discovered that their “single piece of wool forms the most snug, attractive, and seamless foot pocket … plus, the outer sole is lightweight calfskin, durable enough to wear down to the lobby to pick up the mail.”) A year later, we tested a bunch of wool slippers for a second time — and once again, the Glerups topped the list. As Strategist senior writer Karen Iorio Adelson put it then, “They’re comfortable for walking around, and the wool feels warm, soft, and not at all itchy.” Most recently, publishing executive Lisa Lucas revealed that Glerups are also her go-to reading slippers, explaining that “the thing about boiled wool is that it keeps your feet really warm.”
Typically $95 for a pair, they’re available this Cyber Monday for 20 percent off at Backcountry across a wide range of sizes and colors, from the festive red shown above to charcoal, forest green, and a pleasing pink cranberry with no discount code required. Even better, shipping is free, and Backcountry reassuringly says that all orders placed today will arrive well before December 25.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
