Black Friday is here. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our Black Friday coverage.
I am choosing to experience America’s highest-casualty shopping holiday from the comfort of my own home, and I encourage you to do the same — there are so many great deals online that there’s really no reason to get off the couch. I’ve rounded up my favorites, informed by my years of experience testing home products and skepticism of tiny or misleading discounts that aren’t worth your time. You’ll find a mix of practical stuff (a reader-favorite upholstery vacuum, canisters to organize your pantry, dozens and dozens of sofas for 25 percent off) and fun, luxurious stuff (handmade quilts, a cocktail mixer shaped like a penguin), many of which could also make great gifts. A late Thanksgiving means a shorter holiday shopping season, so I’d recommend buying gifts soon, before things sell out. For more Black Friday deals, check out our hub here — we also have guides for specific home-related categories, like the best mattress deals, the best deals on bedding, and the best vacuum sales.
Update on November 29, 2024: Added new deals from Steele Canvas, Puebco, and Archive New York, and checked prices and stock for all products.
The Deals I Personally Think Are Best
I’ve never seen the extremely comfortable Oceanside sofa — my best-in-class pick — this cheap. And 60 percent off is a great deal for a handmade and very durable canvas shower curtain.
Amazon
A ton of items are on sale at Amazon, from workhorse appliances to cute décor. Sales will continue through the next week, but if you see something you like, act fast — the best deals often sell out.
Anthropologie
Almost everything in Anthropologie’s home section is on sale for 30 percent off (the discount appears in your cart; no code necessary).
Archive New York
I’m an admirer of Archive New York’s artisan-made textiles, and they’re 30 percent off with code HOLIDAY2024.
Article
Article makes some of our favorite affordable, reliable furniture, and it’s an even better deal this week.
Audo Copenhagen
A bunch of fancy Scandinavian design for 25 percent off, including one of my favorite voicey sofas.
Crate & Barrel
Many Strategist favorites — a very comfy sofa, a great pendant light — are on sale this week, plus pretty tableware and bedding.
Design Within Reach
Last year, Design Within Reach had a great Black Friday sale, and I’m thrilled to see it’s back. It’s a great time to buy a big-ticket furniture item or cheap home décor from Hay (some great reusable gift boxes are 40 percent off!).
Goodee
Goodee’s Black Friday sale includes some great deals on Tala LED lightbulbs, which can function as stand-alone fixtures.
Hawkins New York
Take 20 percent off everything with code WRAPITUP, including the comfiest quilt in the world and giftable sparkly sponges.
Lulu & Georgia
A bunch of items are on sale at Lulu & Georgia for up to 30 percent off (with an extra 25 percent off on sale items), including some very cute area rugs.
Nordstrom
Nordstrom’s Black Friday sale is concentrated on a few brands, but there’s still plenty to choose from, including a cheap, plush throw blanket and an artichoke-shaped Dutch oven from our favorite brand (Staub, not Le Creuset — scandal!).
Puebco
Japanese store Puebco, known for industrial wares made from recycled and deadstock materials, has a bunch of giftable small home goods on sale. Take 30 percent off with code KURO.
Quiet Town
Quiet Town makes my absolute favorite shower curtains, and they’re a great deal this week — you very rarely see its ultra-durable handmade canvas curtains cheaper than in the $200 range, and a very pretty design is marked down to just $80. There are also some great deals on giftable blankets and bath mats.
Ruggable
Take 20 percent off Ruggable’s washable rugs with code HOLLY24.
Rush House
Take 25 percent off Rush House’s viral seagrass rug with code BF25.
Schoolhouse
Schoolhouse has a lot of beautiful stuff that’s 20 to 25 percent too expensive for my budget. Luckily, this week they’re offering 20 to 25 percent off, depending on the size of your order.
Ssense
I went through 17 pages of home goods in the legendary Ssense winter sale to find the most worthwhile deals. You’re welcome.
Steele Canvas
Take 20 percent off Steele Canvas’s made-in-America, ultra-durable laundry caddies with code BFCM24.
Thompson Street Studio
I love Thompson Street Studio’s handmade quilts, and the brand is offering 25 percent off everything in the store, except for workshops and kits. (If you don’t see the discount at first, don’t worry — it’ll appear at the checkout stage.)
Urban Outfitters
My rule of thumb with Urban Outfitters is to skip the furniture unless the reviews are unambiguously positive, but it’s a great source for tchotchkes, vibe-y textiles, and removable wallpaper. (I also found a great deal on the Boy Smells poppers candle.)
