Discontinued Kreinik Threads & Substitutes

Recently in their blog Kreinik republished their list of discontinued threads. These colors are no longer being made because the materials to make them are no longer available.

The list is divided into two parts. The top part lists thread numbers, color names & suggested substitutes. The bottom section lists threads with no substitutes.

Many stores still have stock of some of these colors and Kreinik may have some of them. If you are using any of these colors in current projects, stock up. Also don’t be afraid to substitute sizes. Depending on your stitch you can substitute 1/16″ ribbon for #12, or two strands of #4 for #8 or #12.
