Nintendo Technology Development Inc. (or NTD) is a research & development company located inside of Nintendo of America's main campus in Redmond, Washington. Under the leadership of Howard Cheng, this Nintendo subsidiary has been the driving force behind the technology powering most Nintendo hardware since the GameCube. Aside from the technology behind the hood of Nintendo hardware, this development group is also responsible for prototyping and experimenting with many different potential technologies that may be incorporated into future use. Additionally, the company has recently absorbed much of Nintendo of America's Engineering Department and Licensee Support Group.
