He is charged with the following:
Assault of a peace officer/military personnel with a dangerous weapon
Interfering with a peace officer
False evidence of title and registration
License plate to be clearly visible
Unsafe vehicle/faulty equipment
Brake lights/reflectors to display or reflect red color

Police in Cottonwood Heights initiated a traffic stop on a man, later identified as Taylor, who was displaying “a ‘Confederate States of America’ license plate where the plate would be properly mounted.” He also was said by police to have a Utah license plate in the window behind the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
Taylor reportedly only rolled the window down part way and produced “an ‘American State National Credentials’ card behind the driver’s window.” Taylor produced a passport but refused to let the police take the passport to inspect it. Taylor was then ordered several times to exit the car, he eventually got out and that is when police asked if he had weapons on his person. Taylor stated he had a knife.
Police say the suspect then reached for the knife, despite orders not to. Officers placed Taylor under arrest and booked him into the Salt Lake County Jail on the aforementioned charges.
No further information is available at this time.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
