Plans for Sioux City Distilling Company advance past Planning and Zoning Commission
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Sioux City’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved Tuesday a site plan and sign design program for the planned Sioux City Distilling Company.
The business is under development at 313 Perry Street in what is known as the Ogden Building. Owner Austin Foster is planning a production facility, a cocktail bar, large event spaces, and a restaurant when the project is complete.
“The distillery going in at 313 Perry will be great for that area,” commission president Andrew Glisar said. “It’s another really old building that can have trouble to find a good use for it. So excited to see something like this going into that area. That will be a good use of that building.”
A request to vacate a part of West 4th Street adjacent to 313 Perry Street was delayed until the commission’s next meeting.

Built in 1890, the Ogden Building was once home to Sioux City Brass Works, as well as a plumbing/heating and cooling business.
City council will review the commission’s decisions on the distillery and on a planned grocery store at their next meeting on Monday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m.
