Former fireman arrested after fire department’s credit card stolen

MANSFIELD, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A fireman has been arrested and faces charges related to illegal purchases made on a Mansfield Fire Department credit card.
The arrest stems from a July 2024 request from the Mansfield Police Department to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Bossier Field Office. The MPD asked the bureau to investigate a stolen credit card that belonged to the Mansfield Fire Department.
An investigation showed that the credit card had been used in more than 180 unauthorized transactions, totaling more than $14,000, between Feb. and July 2024.

Officials allege that former Mansfield fireman Donald Anthony, Jr.. 22, stole the fire department’s credit card after his employment was terminated in Feb. 2024.
An arrest warrant was obtained through the 42nd JDC, and Anthony faces charges that include felony access device fraud and felony identity theft.
Anthony surrendered to authorities and has been booked in the DeSoto Parish Detention Center.
