'Holy cow, this is great:' Silva Linings Cheesecakery moves into a larger location

COSHOCTON − A fairly new Coshocton business has shifted locations after just about six months opened.

Silva Linings Cheesecakery opened at the end of April at 660 Main St., the former home of Coshocton Lab and Muscle Menders. It recently moved and re-opened at 436 Main St. It was once the banquet room for the Main Street Station Saloon, which reopened in April after a temporary closure.

Several women co-own the bakery, offering different specialty items. However, the business started with Kitt Silva, who began making cheesecakes for friends and family years ago. Word of mouth turned her hobby into a business in 2018 while living in Mississippi. Her family moved back to Coshocton in 2021 and Silva continued baking from home, but she always had an eye open for the right storefront.

Silva Linings Cheesecakery has moved into a new location at 436 Main St., which has about four times the space, and open floor plan and a lounge area for customers.

In fact, Silva said the new location was their original choice, but it didn't work out initially. It's about four times bigger than the first space and very little remodeling was needed. As a banquet room, it already had an open floor plan and a kitchen area. They're also able to have tables and a lounge area for customers.

"That was a temporary spot from the start," Silva said of the location down the road. "We had a need for more room. The room up there was a tiny, little living room, basically. Having more than two or three people in there, there was a shuffle you had to do to get around each other."

Examples of baked goods include cheesecakes, cakes, brownies, fudge, cookies and sourdough bread among more. There are four bakers now with plans to add at least one more, Silva said.

Along with Silva there is Morgan Arnold of Morgan's Baked Goods, Lacey Moore of Naturally Delicious Goods and Moore and Dawn White of Baked by Dawn.

With the holiday season gearing up, Silva said they are receiving a lot of orders for savory cheesecakes and cheeseballs for holiday parties and gifts.

She also said the move has met with approval from customers.

"We have a lot of people who walk in and say 'Holy cow, this is great' or 'You have so much more space and it's beautiful,'" Silva remarked.
