NCWIT Communications Coordination Consultant
Project:
NCWIT is a prominent, national community of more than 1,600 organizations whose mission is to significantly increase girls’ and women’s participation in computing. NCWIT materials create awareness about the current state of affairs for technical girls and women—at the intersections of race/ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and other historically marginalized identities—and key barriers to their participation in technology; increase knowledge about research-based practices for addressing these barriers; and motivate individuals and organizations to take action. Thus, communications collateral not only focuses on the difficult technical content area of strategies and approaches for increasing the number of girls and women into computing, but also strives to highlight successes and positive projections, resulting from NCWIT strategies and approaches.
