Michael Schwartz Finally Announces Details on His Upcoming Edgewater Restaurant

Called Amara at Paraiso, it’ll debut this November

Since its original announcement in 2014, Miami has been left in suspense about exactly what Michael Schwartz and his team would be doing at their restaurant in Edgewater – and now the details have finally emerged. Called Amara at Paraiso, it’ll be a waterfront restaurant featuring cuisine cooked on a wood grill and Josper charcoal grill oven and plans to make its official debut this November at 3101 NE 7th Avenue.

Describing the restaurant as Michael Schwartz’s “love letter to Miami,” its menu will be influenced with Latin American flavors and coastal ingredients with aims to create “the quintessential Miami dining experience.” Think dishes like grilled flatbreads, savory pastries, platters of meats and fish, with a cocktail menu inspired by the tropics.

The massive 4,500-square-foot space designed by Meyer Davis Studio will incorporate the waterfront environment as a design element. The restaurant features a main dining room and bar seating for 150, with floor to ceiling windows offering Biscayne Bay views, as well as deck seating for 70 on the water. The outside will feature white washed paneling, natural woods, and graphic concrete tiles, while inside there will be exposed trusses and an open double-height steel stair.

Stay tuned for more details.
