Alibaba becomes a member of GraalVM Advisory Board
GraalVM Advisory Board is an advisory committee of key project contributors and partners with a shared goal of driving the GraalVM project forward. Its current members are Amazon, Arm Technology China, Gluon, Hasso Plattner Institute, Microdoc, Neo4j, Object Computing, Red Hat, Shopify, Twitter and VMware. Their representatives meet quarterly to discuss community and contributor interaction and share ways to drive the project forward.
GraalVM is also open to accepting new members of the board among the organizations that are involved in the project. One of them is Alibaba Group, who are actively involved in GraalVM project and community. Recently they wrote a blog post describing their experience using GraalVM native image in production under huge load and sharing helpful tips with the community.
Alibaba also made several contributions to the project:
- Add survivor space to native image GC: this PR added the multi-survivor spaces for the native image GC to reduce the frequency of full GC,
- Support dynamic class loading and serialization: this PR introduces dumping classes generated at run time in a beforehand run with native-image-agent to a specified directory which is added to the classpath to build a native-image,
and other contributions.
We are welcoming Alibaba as a member of GraalVM Advisory Board and look forward to working together!
