Egypt Chairs Arab AI Working Group 8th Session

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is chairing the Eighth Session of the Arab AI Working Group, on November 27 and 28. The session is hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) at its premises in New Alamein City.

The primary goal of the meeting is to finalize discussions on the draft Arab AI Strategy, which will be submitted to the Arab Permanent Committee for ICT for review and subsequently presented for approval at the next session of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM). Additional topics on the agenda include the draft Arab Charter for AI Ethics, the efforts of Arab countries in advancing AI, and the next steps for implementing the Arab AI Strategy.

The Arab AI Working Group was established following a resolution by ATICM during its 23rd session, based on a proposal from Egypt highlighting the need for a unified Arab approach and strategic plan in the field of AI.
