ILIGAN CITY ââ¬â Police arrested a murder suspect and seized shabu valued at P8.8 million here on Thursday night, August 28.

POLICE found suspected shabu worth P8.8 million from a murder suspect in Iligan City on Thursday, August 28.
The suspect was a 36-year-old male listed as the fourth most wanted person here and Top 2 on the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency he regional level watchlist.
He was arrested on a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder dated August 28 issued by Judge Jose Alfonso M. Gomos, acting Presiding Judge of the Lanao del Norte Regional Trial Court Branch 5 here.
Bail for the suspect was set at P120,000.
The suspect ran to his room while authorities were serving the document.
He was cornered in the room and police discovered, among others, a large open transparent plastic bag containing suspected shabu, four forceps, and two digital weighing scales.
About 1.3 kilograms of shabu valued at P8.8 million were seized from the suspect. The contraband is undergoing laboratory validation.
Police Major Marvin Cajegas, Iligan City police Station 5 chief, said the suspect received supply of shabu from nearby provinces.
Mayor Frederick W. Siao commended authorities for the successful operation.
He said Iligan does not condone drug trafficking and his administration supports authorities through resources, funds, intelligence-sharing, anti-drug policy, and rehabilitation and support services for persons who use drugs.
