Warsong is a Valkyrie Steed and Brunnhilde's mount that is the namesake for her ship of the same name.
Biography[]
Valkyrie’s Steed[]
Massacre of the Valkyrie[]
Warsong became Brunnhilde’s mount. In the 1st Millennium A.D., he was ridden by her into battle against Hela in which they sent her back to Hel. He and Brunnhilde were the only survivors.[1]
Battle of Earth[]
In 2023, Warsong was ridden by Brunnhilde from New Asgard through an Inter-Dimensional Portal to the ruins of the Avengers Compound in New York to participate in the battle against an alternate Thanos and his army.
During the battle, Pepper Potts, in her Mark XLIX armor, dropped Spider-Man onto Warsong to help him keep the Nano Gauntlet away from the army. Warsong assisted Brunnhilde throughout the remainder of the battle, such as flying her up to fight off a Levitathan. When the battle ended, Warsong returned home.[2]
Attack on New Asgard[]
In 2025, Warsong was ridden by Brunnhilde into battle against the Shadow Monsters who were unleashed by Gorr the God Butcher upon New Asgard.[3]
Trip to the Gates of Eternity[]
Later, Warsong was tasked by Brunnhilde to transport Mighty Thor to help Thor at the Gates of Eternity, a dimension of the Multiverse. He flew Foster throughout the universe to get to that dimension. He dropped her off and then returned to New Asgard.[3]
Powers[]
- Valkyrie Steed Physiology: As a Valkyrie Steed, Warsong possesses traits that are distinctive from regular horses. Although with more powerful abilities as well as flight.
- Superhuman Strength: Warsong is able to carry at least two individuals on his back while in the air.
- Superhuman Durability: Warsong was able to survive an energy shot from the Sanctuary II.
- Superhuman Speed: While flying, Warsong could travel at incredibly fast speeds. Warsong was able to fly around the Battle of Earth and catch up to the falling Spider-Man. Warsong is also extremely fast on foot.
- Superhuman Agility: Warsong was able to use many maneuvers in the air to catch Spider-Man as well as dodging energy blasts.
- Superhuman Stamina: Warsong was able to fly around the entire Battle of Earth without tiring.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Warsong was able to dodge energy blasts from the Sanctuary II.
- Flight: Warsong is able to use his wings to fly. With Valkyrie on his back, he flew around the Battle of Earth and was able to help her find Scott Lang's van.
- Portal Creation: Warsong is able to create portals that allow him and his passenger to travel to any location in the universe.
