Vienna is the capital and largest city in Austria.
History[]
Steel Serpent's Sales[]
Vienna was the hometown of one of the Hand's clients that bought their Steel Serpent using the Rand Enterprises' resources.[1]
United Nations[]
Ratification of the Sokovia Accords[]
- "Three days from now, the UN meets in Vienna to ratify the Accords."
- ―Thaddeus Ross[src]
In 2016, the United Nations passed the Sokovia Accords and arranged a formal ceremony at the Vienna International Centre in Vienna. While Wakandan King T'Chaka gave his speech, the bomb planted by Helmut Zemo decimated the building. As chaos ensued, a wounded T'Challa found his father's corpse and cradled it in his arms.[2] As the survivors regained consciousness and attempted to evacuate, journalist Jeffrey Mace helped free those who were trapped under rubble.[3]
Revealing Wakanda[]
Sometime after reclaiming Wakanda, T'Challa, Nakia, Okoye and Ayo arrived in Vienna to give a speech at the United Nations in the rebuilt Vienna International Centre, officially ending Wakanda's isolation.[4]
Post-Blip[]
Flag Smashers Campaign[]
In 2023, following the Blip, the Global Repatriation Council set up a refugee camp in Vienna. In 2024, the Flag Smashers targeted the camp.[5]
