- "Your flight was scheduled to leave an hour and a half ago."
"That's funny... I thought with it being my plane and all, that it would just wait for me to get there." - ―Pepper Potts and Tony Stark[src]
The Stark Industries Private Jet are private jet planes commonly used by Tony Stark and other executives of Stark Industries.
History[]
Tony Stark's Plane[]
Trip to Afghanistan[]
- "Doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of having your own plane if it departs before you arrive?"
- ―Pepper Potts and Tony Stark[src]
The plane used to be parked in the Stark Industries Aviation Division parking lot is a heavily modified Boeing 737 BBJ. Tony Stark and James Rhodes traveled on the private jet heading to Afghanistan for a weapons test, per a contract with the United States Air Force. Rhodes tried to talk to Stark seriously about their plans, but Stark convinced Rhodes to drink and party.[1] Stark interrupted Rhodes' continued talking about his connection to his uniform, distracting him with the attractive flight attendants dancing. Stark left to have sex with Trixie while the other women flirted with Rhodes. The next morning, Rhodes worked through his hangover and Stark ate breakfast while the plane landed.[2] After landing, Stark's weapons test was successful, which then led to his capture and building the Mark I.[1]
Trip to D.C.[]
In 2010, Tony Stark used the private jet to commute to Washington, D.C. to appear before a congressional subcommittee by Senator Stern, about the relinquishing of the Iron Man Armor by Tony Stark to the federal government.[3]
Trip to Monaco[]
While en route to Monaco for the charity race, Tony Stark used the private jet's kitchen to make a meal for Pepper Potts. While he spent a considerable amount of time on it, she did not eat it due to its unappetizing making. The private jet also housed the Iron Man Armor: Mark V as an emergency armor should Stark find himself in need of fighting a threat.[3]
Battle of New York[]
In 2012, Pepper Potts traveled with staff to another part of the United States on the jet, and they viewed the Battle of New York on the jet's television monitor. After Potts was finished with work, she took the jet back to New York City.[4]
Trip to Berlin[]
- "This is your first time on a private plane?"
"It's my first time on any plane." - ―Happy Hogan and Peter Parker[src]
In 2016, Happy Hogan was in charge of ensuring Peter Parker had a means of traveling from New York City to Berlin on a pilotless Gulfstream G650, so he used the private jet.
Parker, excited for being on an aircraft for the first time in his life, took recordings of his being on board, much to Hogan's irritation. One instance, Parker recorded Hogan after he had fallen asleep. On the return flight home, Tony Stark flew with Hogan and Parker back to New York.[5]
Upgraded Plane[]
Aiding Peter Parker[]
In 2024, Happy Hogan traveled to the Netherlands in an upgraded private jet to pick up a battle weary Peter Parker, who was distrusting given the recent ambush. Hogan proved himself to be real by knowing about the pay per view bill from the Berlin hotel, which Parker never shared with anyone.
On the jet, Hogan gave Parker first aid, but Parker became frustrated and moved away from him. He then became emotional over the loss of his mentor and how he was on his own, in which Hogan sympathized with him. After Parker expressed the need for a new suit, Hogan showed Parker a room on the jet where he could make his own Spider-Man Suit. Parker then synthesized a new suit creating a black and red upgraded suit.[6]
Destruction[]
As the jet reached London, Spider-Man stuck onto the side of it while talking to Happy Hogan before hopping off as they came closer to the Elemental Fusion.
Hogan then landed the jet and located Ned Leeds, Michelle Jones, Betty Brant and Flash Thompson to evacuate them by way of the jet. However, before they could get there, drones sent by Mysterio blew up the jet.[6]
Alternate Universe Versions[]
Trip to Afghanistan[]
In an alternate timeline, Tony Stark arrived late to his private flight to Afghanistan and quickly boarded the self-driven plane, claiming to have had car trouble, before James Rhodes could scold him. Rhodes followed Stark onto the plane and expressed frustration at having been left for three hours, but was interrupted when a flight attendant brought warm towels. Rhodes took one, while Stark accepted one. The two then remained silent until the plane took off.
Once the plane reached cruising altitude, a flight attendant offered Stark a drink, but Rhodes refused, wanting to focus on work. However, Stark eventually convinced him to drink, and Rhodes start talking about his devotion to the military. Stark described Rhodes' consistency in talking about certain topics while drinking, angering Rhodes. Stark suggested he spend time with the captain, but Rhodes found the cockpit empty as the plane flew itself. Stark laughed as Rhodes returned to his seat. The plane eventually reached Afghanistan and landed in Bagram Air Base.[7]
Obadiah Stane's Disappearance[]
In an alternate universe, Obadiah Stane was discovered to have been working with A.I.M., so he had Pepper Potts kidnapped and used Stark Industries' private jet to escape.[8]
Airborne Armory[]
Theft of the Dataspine[]
In an alternate universe, Tony Stark used his private jet as an armory to store his Iron Man armors. Pepper Potts stood by in the Stark Industries Private Jet as Stark and James Rhodes attempted to prevent Roxxon Energy Corporation from stealing the Dataspine from Stark Industries. Stark and Rhodes had to make a hasty retreat to the jet, where Stark explained that Roxxon had stolen a significant portion of J.A.R.V.I.S.' code. Stark, Rhodes, and Potts figured out that Valentin Shatalov was likely responsible for the theft, so Stark ordered J.A.R.V.I.S. to take the plane to Russia. Stark called Nick Fury for permission to land, and Fury granted the plane permission to land on the Helicarrier.[9]
Operation Daybreak[]
While the jet was on the Helicarrier, the base was attacked, including the jet. Tony Stark defended the jet and the rest of the Helicarrier, allowing James Rhodes to board the jet and take off. Stark boarded the jet and the two made a plan. Stark realized he was the main target, so Rhodes donned his War Machine armor and left the jet to fight the A.I.M. Arc Armiger which had been deployed.[9]
