"What's their thing, world domination?"
"That's secondary. For R.A.I.D., destruction is a goal in itself."
Captain America and Black Widow[src]

Radically Advanced Ideas in Destruction, commonly referred to as R.A.I.D., is a terrorist organization.

History[]

R.A.I.D. allied with U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. and the Serpent Society in a conflict against S.H.I.E.L.D.

Once they attacked New York, Captain America was sent in to destroy the transmitters central communications post. He then teamed up with Black Widow and destroyed their communications base.

R.A.I.D. attacked Stark Labs and Rogers teamed up with Falcon, rescuing several hostages and retrieving the Iso-8 within. R.A.I.D. the sent Shockwave on a rampage to distract S.H.I.E.L.D.. Rogers defeated Shockwave and brought him into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, where Romanoff interrogated him, though he revealed no valuable information.

While Rogers was apprehending Shockwave, R.A.I.D. infiltrated Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., S.H.I.E.L.D.'s R & D facility. Rogers saved the civilians within by disabling their communications system. However, R.A.I.D. successfully stole three nuclear warheads powered by Iso-8, each powerful enough to destroy a major city.

Rogers chased after they and Hill informed him that S.H.I.E.L.D. had discovered the location of R.A.I.D.'s base, but R.A.I.D. had also sent reinforcements to overwhelm him. Taskmaster's men diverted them from the real destination of the stolen weapons and Sin orders him to place Bernhold Renner, the S.H.I.E.L.D. analyst they have taken hostage, at the now rigged base as a trap, since Rogers would not be able to resist a rescue mission.

When Rogers reached the base, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had located Renner. Rogers secured him, but found no trace of the weapons. Rogers then engaged Taskmaster and defeated him, taking him into custody.

As hostile activity would down in New York, King Cobra sent U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. to team up with R.A.I.D. in Washington, D.C., where the World Security Council were having an emergency meeting. Rogers and Wilson managed to get the Council to safety and avoid an international incident. Meanwhile Romanoff interrogated Taskmaster, but he revealed nothing.

The Serpent Society then attacked Washington, led by Puff Adder. Rogers and Wilson were sent to Washington to combat this threat and scatter the united front of R.A.I.D. and U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M.. Hill located Puff Adder and Rogers confronted and defeated him. He took him into custody and Romanoff interrogated him and persuaded him to reveal the location of the warheads, which was a R.A.I.D. base in Washington.

Before they could infiltrate the base, President Matthew Ellis' security detail is attacked by R.A.I.D. troops. Rogers rescued Ellis and safely got him to a point where he could be picked up by the Helicarrier.[1]
