Nick Fury's Crew[1] was a tactical team formed by Nick Fury following the loss of his operational command of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the fracturing of the Avengers.

History[]

Dissolution of S.H.I.E.L.D.[]

"Let's vanish."
Nick Fury to Maria Hill[src]

In 2014, following the dissolution of S.H.I.E.L.D. and turning over directorship to Phil Coulson,[2] Nick Fury decided to perform low-key missions with some of the remaining S.H.I.E.L.D. loyalists and allies. Fury remained in contact with Maria Hill, who was working for Stark Industries and the Avengers, and had her assemble a group of former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, such as Cameron Klein.[3]

Ultron Offensive[]

Nick Fury aids in the evacuation of Sokovia

In 2015, Fury contacted Coulson to activate Theta Protocol, which was to repair and perform maintenance of a Helicarrier.[4] He enlisted Hill, Klein, and several other agents to assist in this mission. During the Battle of Sokovia, Fury and his crew assisted the Avengers in evacuating Sokovia onboard the repaired Helicarrier.

Following the defeat of Ultron, Fury helped with the foundation of the Avengers Compound for the Avengers' new roster. Afterwards, Fury returned to his underground operations.[3]

Avengers Civil War[]

In 2016, Fury and Hill watch the Battle at Leipzig-Halle Airport on a screen in an undisclosed hideout and decide to carry out their plan then to "vanish." In 2017, Fury met with Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Sam Wilson, who are now fugitives, after they stop the exchange of a rigged Chitauri Bomb in Syria. He tried to convince Rogers to bring the Avengers back together, but he refused, saying that Tony Stark had a way to reach him, and all he has to do was call.[5]

Thanos' Victory[]

Fury and Hill

Nick Fury to Maria Hill[src]

In 2018, while driving through Atlanta, Georgia to meet Cameron Klein, Nick Fury asked Maria Hill for updates on Tony Stark's location, to which she replied they found nothing despite extensive search around the planet. They discussed the recent alien activity, when Hill received information about the incident in Wakanda.

Suddenly, they witnessed chaos in the city, as people started disintegrating into dust. Upon seeing a helicopter crash into a building, Fury instructed Hill to call control for a code red, but she suddenly disintegrated herself. Fury then ran back to his car and used the Transmitter Pager to send out an emergency alert to Captain Marvel, before disintegrating himself.[6]

Skrull Impersonation[]

In 2023, Nick Fury and Maria Hill were restored to life. Fury eventually tasked the Skrulls Talos and Soren to come to Earth and replace him and Hill respectively, while he took a leave of absence in space. Fury also tasked Talos with delivering Tony Stark's glasses, outfitted with E.D.I.T.H., to Peter Parker.[7]

In 2024, Quentin Beck and his crew began a campaign to gain public recognition for Beck, who disguised himself as a superhero that would eventually be nicknamed Mysterio. In doing so, Beck and his crew created the Elementals, whereby they launched attacks around the globe.

One such attack would gain Talos and Soren's attention, disguised as Fury and Hill respectively. When they arrived in Mexico to investigate Cyclone's attack, Sandman suddenly attacked, prompting Talos and Soren to fire at the Elemental. Immune to their bullets, they were saved by the arrival of Beck, who explained the threat at hand, successfully manipulating Talos and his crew into working together to combat the Elementals.[7]

Morocco Incident[]

"Three days later, a similar event in Morocco. A village was destroyed by what may very well be another world threatening event"
Talos to Peter Parker[src]

Three days after, Talos and his crew travelled to Morocco alongside Quentin Beck, where Beck defeated Cyclone. Afterwards, Talos made numerous attempts to enlist Spider-Man, an Avenger, against the Elemental threat, to no avail as Parker would decline Talos' calls.[7]

Recruiting Spider-Man[]

Following his assistance during the Battle in the Grand Canal, Talos, disguised as Nick Fury, intercepted Peter Parker on his school trip to enlist his help in combatting the Elementals. Whilst on the way to his hideout, Talos handed [[[Tony Stark]]'s glasses to Parker, as tasked by Fury. Upon arrival, Talos introduced Parker to Soren (disguised as Maria Hill), Dimitri Smerdyakov, and Quentin Beck. Despite Beck's explanation of the threat at hand, Parker declined involvement, instead opting to continue his vacation. Talos then hijacked Parker's vacation itinerary, changing his next stop from Paris to Prague, in order to combat the last Elemental, Molten Man.[7]

Rest Stop in Austria[]

As rerouted by Talos, Dimitri Smerdyakov took over as bus driver for Peter Parker's travel group. En route to Prague, he made a rest stop in Austria, where the Seamstress handed Parker his stealth Spider-Man Suit, to accommodate Parker's wishes for Spider-Man to not be seen in Europe.[7]

"We need to stay vigilant. There's a void in this world for someone like you. Hill and I are going to Europol headquarters in Berlin tomorrow. You should join us."
Talos to Mysterio[src]

Upon arrival in Prague, Peter Parker met up with Talos and his crew. Together with Mysterio, they then went over their plan in preparation for Molten Man's attack. When Parker expressed concern for his friends' safety, Talos berated Parker for recklessly using E.D.I.T.H. to call in a drone strike on his tour bus instead.

In preparation for the attack, Talos maintained communication with Parker, who was at the State Opera with his classmates. When the final Elemental attack began, Talos and Soren lead their crew towards the scene, where Spider-Man and Mysterio were fighting Molten Man. Following Mysterio's attempted sacrifice and defeat of Molten Man, Talos invited Beck and Parker to join him and Soren at Europol's Berlin headquarters, in recognition of their heroism and the world's need for heroes. As Beck and Parker headed for drinks, Talos and his crew proceeded with clean-up and mission reports.[7]

Battle of London[]

Upon the unexpected emergence of Elemental activity in London, Talos and his crew set up base in The Shard while Mysterio scouted the city. As Beck and his crew prepared to create the Elemental Fusion, Talos received a call from Happy Hogan with a coded message, warning Talos of Beck's deception. During the Elemental Fusion's attack on Tower Bridge, Talos would be fully convinced of Beck's deception when he reported on the situation.

Soren destroys Beck's drone

Anticipating Beck's attempt on his life, Talos sent Soren onto the rooftop with a rocket launcher. As Spider-Man destroyed Beck's drones, his illusions started falling apart, revealing a singular drone sent to assassinate Talos and Soren. On Talos' signal, Soren fired a rocket and destroyed the drone, saving their lives.

Talos & Happy Hogan

Talos demands to speak with Peter Parker

Following Spider-Man's defeat of Mysterio, Talos and Soren attempted to meet with Parker, only to find Hogan alone. As they discussed Hogan's poorly coded message to Talos, Hogan promised him that Parker would contact him, much to Talos' amusement.[7]

Contacting Nick Fury[]

"And, uh, you know, shortly after that, everything kind of went off the rails, and so we need you to come back."
Talos to Nick Fury[src]

Afterwards, with the urging of Soren, Talos reluctantly contacted Nick Fury and reported to him that he had given Tony Stark's glasses to Peter Parker, declining to share details about his misplaced trust in Quentin Beck. He also stated that people kept asking where the Avengers were, to which he had no answer, requesting for Fury's return. Fury then realized he needed to return and ended the call.[7]
