- "You said move the merchandise."
"Under the radar. Under the radar! That's how we survive. If you bring Damage Control or the Avengers down here, we're through." - ―Jackson Brice and Adrian Toomes[src]
Jackson W. Brice was a member of Adrian Toomes' criminal group who used modified weaponry, including a gauntlet, to showcase and sell alien-human hybrid weaponry under the alias of Shocker. Having jeopardized the group by recklessly and repeatedly firing an Ultron Blaster Gun publicly, Toomes attempted to kick Brice out of the group, but accidentally killed Brice instead when the latter threatened to expose Toomes to his family and the authorities.

Losing his Job[]
- "My alarm didn't go off."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, your alarm. Look, just go stack that armor plating like I asked. This is a huge deal for us." - ―Jackson Brice and Adrian Toomes[src]

Brice arrives late to work with Adrian Toomes
In the wake of the Battle of New York, Brice worked alongside Adrian Toomes who had managed to gain New York City's new contract for his own Company to clean up the city. However, Brice had showed up extremely late carrying his coffee, resulting in Toomes berating him while Brice made the excuse that his alarm had failed to go off. Toomes, however, just ignored this excuse and ordered Brice to go over to the Leviathan and take it apart with his co-workers.

Brice witnesses the arrival of the United States Department of Damage Control
However, before Brice could get to work, they were interrupted by the sudden arrival of the United States Department of Damage Control agents, with their director, Anne Marie Hoag, informing Toomes and the rest of the company to stop what they were doing as Damage Control were taking over the cleanup of wreckages caused by the Avengers. Brice watched as Toomes pleaded with Hoag before being angered at Foster and hitting him, resulting in Brice and all of the others being forced out.

Brice discusses keeping all of the weapons
Returning to Toomes' warehouse, Brice lay down on the sofa and complained with Herman Schultz and Phineas Mason about how Tony Stark was funding Damage Control and was therefore profiting from taking their work. When Randy Vale noticed they still had a van load of Chitauri technology, Brice insisted he would not move it before Toomes suggested that they instead keep the technology and use it to make themselves rich by all turning to a life of crime.[1]
Weapons Dealing[]
Becoming Shocker[]
- "You're out there, wearing that goofy thing, lightin' up cars, calling yourself the Shocker. 'I'm the Shocker. I shock people.' What is this, pro wrestling?"
- ―Adrian Toomes to Jackson Brice[src]
With Phineas Mason combining their salvaged Chitauri technology with human engineering to create weapons, Brice was tasked to partner with Herman Schultz to sell the weapons on the black market. Following the Attack in Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria, Mason acquired one of the gauntlets from Crossbones' Battlefield Suit, which he modified into a electrified variant. While attempting to sell their weapons on the streets, Brice developed a habit of wearing the gauntlet and calling himself Shocker, demonstrating its strength to potential buyers by destroying cars.[1]
Encounter with Spider-Man[]

Brice makes a weapons deal with Aaron Davis
- "Now this is crafted from a reclaimed Sub-Ultron arm, straight from Sokovia."
- ―Jackson Brice to Aaron Davis[src]
Jackson Brice and Herman Schultz met Aaron Davis in the outskirts of Queens where Brice enthusiastically demonstrated a weapon created with Ultron parts, straight out of Sokovia. Davis was wary of the weapon, telling them that he wanted a small device so he could simply mug people. Brice put the weapon away and offered several other devices, including Black Hole Grenades, Taser Rods and an Anti-Gravity Climber, which Davis took interest in. When the trio heard a ringtone, Brice and Schultz immediately assumed that Davis had set them up. As they pulled their guns on him, Spider-Man appeared, telling the arms dealers to shoot him instead.

Shocker attacks and knocks back Spider-Man
As Davis made a retreat, Schultz opened fire on the young vigilante and Brice put on the Shocker's Gauntlet. When Spider-Man rushed towards him, Brice punched him with the weapon, sending the young vigilante flying. Schultz started the van and drove away with Brice. As Spider-Man swung after the two, Brice activated several weapons, shooting at the web-slinger and causing damage to the getaway van. Brice accidentally drops one of the weapons when Spider-Man snags the van doors, causing Brice to suggest that they call Vulture. With Vulture showing up and successfully dealing with Spider-Man, Brice and Schultz made their getaway.[1]
Angering Adrian Toomes[]

Brice is confronted by Adrian Toomes
- "Maybe your wife would like to know where you really get your money from."
- ―Jackson Brice to Adrian Toomes[src]
Brice and Herman Schultz managed to get back to the Vulture's base. Brice was thrilled with the chase, only to be confronted by Adrian Toomes. Toomes asked him how many times he had told Brice not to fire the weapons in public, with Brice defending his actions saying that he had to move the weapons. Toomes became fed up with Brice's recklessness and attitude, as well as his self-proclaimed "Shocker" nickname, telling Brice that he was fired.

Brice is vaporized by Adrian Toomes
Disgusted, Brice threatened Toomes, saying that he will inform the authorities about their operation. Brice then asked Toomes what would happen if he told Doris Toomes about his business. This was a step too far for Toomes, who promptly picked up what he thought was an Anti-Gravity Gun — which instead was a Chitauri Gun — and vaporized Brice, reducing him to ash within seconds and leaving only his gauntlet intact. Though briefly flustered by accidentally using the wrong weapon, Toomes then casually walked over Brice's ashes and tosses the gauntlet to Herman Schultz, mockingly proclaiming him as the new "Shocker" while tasking him with finding the weapon Brice lost.[1]
Personality[]
- "Look, look. I know you don't give a crap about anything, but I do. I built this whole place because I got people I have to look after."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." - ―Adrian Toomes and Jackson Brice[src]
Jackson Brice was shown to be blunt, rude and ignorant, and never thought of the consequences of his actions, but was also a thrill seeker, finding satisfaction in the intense chase sequence between him and Spider-Man. Even when being confronted for his irresponsible behavior, Jackson flatly brushes this off as he hates being lectured over this. When fired by Vulture because of his cocky attitude, he instantly retaliated with a threat to expose Toomes' actions to both his wife and the authorities, causing him to be killed by Toomes.
