Iranian Revolution[]
In 1979, the Iranian Revolution occurred, secretly orchested by HYDRA.[1] The revolution prompted Hamid Madani and his wife Farah to leave Iran and relocate to New York City.[2]
S.H.I.E.L.D. Mission[]

Black Widow was tasked by S.H.I.E.L.D. to escort a nuclear engineer out of Iran. However, they was attacked by Winter Soldier near Odesa who managed to assassinate the engineer.[1]
Battle Armor Prototype[]
Iran, along with many other nations on Earth, tried to develop a suit similar to the Iron Man Armor. However, they failed, as the prototype suit designed by Iranian engineers could not work properly.[3]
Jericho Bootleg[]
The Iranian Government deployed a VAJA operative under the identity of Mohammed Yavari to purchase missing bootleg Stark Tech from Hammer Industries that Mikhail Fjodorov and Starodoub managed to obtain. Yavari introduced himself as the owner of a series of Internet cafes in Tehran and attempted to buy the Jericho missiles, however, the deal was interrupted by S.H.I.E.L.D.[4]
