The book is a retelling and reimagining of the Skirmish on Knowhere, which is different from the one depicted in the film. For example, Yondu Udonta is already waiting for Star-Lord on Knowhere when he and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive. Additionally, instead of Star-Lord and Gamora being saved by the Ravagers, Star-Lord simply grabs Gamora and brings her back to Knowhere. The content from this storybook is deemed to be non-canonical to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
