En Dwi Gast, also known as Grandmaster, was the ruler of Sakaar, who later moved in with Darryl Jacobson.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Grandmaster lived on Sakaar, a home for lost things. He had an assistant named Topaz.[2]
Living with Darryl Jacobson[]
- "The Grandmaster was the only one who answered my Craigslist ad."
"Imagine that, I was the only one. Well, lucky me." - ―Darryl Jacobson and Grandmaster[src]
As documented by the New Zealand Documentary Board, Grandmaster responded to an advertisement on Craigslist to become housemates with Darryl Jacobson, having been the only one to answer the ad. Jacobson discovered that, despite Jacobson's belief that Grandmaster was merely an actor, he was in fact from the planet Sakaar. Grandmaster made a plate of toast, expressing interest in Earth culture. However, he quickly became frustrated with the toast.
Grandmaster, upset about no longer having Topaz as a servant, decided that Jacobson would be a fitting replacement. He made Jacobson wear Topaz's armor and carry her Melt Stick and proceeded to make Jacobson perform several chores and drive him around, claiming to be over a million years old. Jacobson was once spending time with a woman when Grandmaster entered the room, separating the two and cuddling with Jacobson.
Grandmaster shared with the documentary crew a collection of drawings that he had made of Jacobson, including one of Jacobson with a long tie, one of Jacobson happily riding a horse with Grandmaster's face, and one of him dreaming about Grandmaster. The crew later filmed Grandmaster drawing Jacobson while Jacobson was taking a shower.
Grandmaster, having grown to appreciate Earth, decided to take it over. He posted a video on YouTube, declaring himself to be the new ruler. He threatened to melt people with the Melt Stick, but nobody had seen the video, so Grandmaster decided to form a band with Jacobson's work friends, including David Richardson. The band rehearsed, but Grandmaster was upset when Richardson played a different style of music, so Grandmaster killed him with the Melt Stick, scaring the other band members. Jacobson suggested calling Richardson's parents, and Grandmaster rehearsed with Jacobson, poorly attempting to practice the call.
Grandmaster told the documentary crew that he intended to have Jacobson continue to be his servant once he took over the world, and Jacobson became frightful of Grandmaster, even as Grandmaster expressed his affection for Jacobson. However, Grandmaster became upset when he had to force Jacobson to say "I love you" in return.[2]
Personality[]
Grandmaster has very extravagant personality, not hiding his anger issues when they come up. He also remains unaware of when he crosses boundaries, such as when he interrupted Darryl Jacobson's date. He is not good with emotions, as demonstrated by his inability to make a proper phone call to the mother of the man he killed.
