The Ambush on the Minutemen was an attempt by the Minutemen agents to apprehend Sylvie Laufeydottir.

Sylvie Laufeydottir, who had escaped from the Time Variance Authority Office being a child, plotted her revenge against the organization and, once she started to enact it and attack the Time Variance Authority and its members, she was deemed a dangerous variant and Mobius M. Mobius was assigned with tracking her down.
One case had led Mobius alongside various Minutemen to 1549 due to an ambush on a group of Minutemen, who Sylvie killed. Suddenly, a young boy had entered the scene, though Mobius persuaded him to tell him who caused the attack. The boy pointed to a stained glass mural of the Devil, but Mobius noticed the bubblegum he was chewing. Nearing the end of their investigation, a TVA analyst came to Mobius through a Timedoor, showing him documents of the latest prisoner: a Variant of Loki.[1]
Ambush[]
A group of Minutemen led by Hunter U-92 traveled to 1858, where a branching timeline began occurring due to a Quantum Ore Shovel appearing a year before the historical finding of oil veins in Salina, Oklahoma. U-92 kneeled down, discovering that oil was below them and assuming that someone had a time machine and went back to get rich. Presuming that it was no risk, U-92 ordered one of the Minutemen to set a Reset Charge. However, as the group was about to leave, one of the other Minutemen spotted a hooded figure in the distance.
The group moved in to apprehend Sylvie, but she dropped a lamp to the ground, breaking it and revealing a fire trap around the Minutemen. Suddenly, the flames ensnared the Minutemen, killing the three other Minutemen that were with U-92 as he narrowly escaped. Trying to crawl away, he was pulled back by Sylvie and was killed. While she was about to leave, she retrieved the Minutemen's Reset Charge and escaped the scene.[1]

Sylvie returned to Roxxcart Mall in order to store her collected Reset Charge as she had been collecting them to distract the TVA, and planned her following attack, an ambush in 1985, in order to continue her plans.[1]
