In prehistoric times, a monstrous race of extraterrestrial beings called Deviants arrived on Earth and landed in Alaska. However, they ended up being frozen in the ice, which preserved them for centuries.[1]

Bruce Banner's Attempted Suicide[]

In 2007, Bruce Banner came to Alaska to commit suicide. When he attempted to fire a bullet into his mouth, his transformation into Hulk was triggered, wherein Hulk spat the bullet out.[2][3]
Emil Blonsky's Prison[]
Emil Blonsky was taken into custody and put in a cryo-cell, the Vault, located in Barrow, Alaska. S.H.I.E.L.D. assigned some of their agents to guard Blonsky.[4]

Return of the Deviants[]
In Fall 2024, following the Blip, a glacier melted and the Deviants that had been frozen inside of it were restored to consciousness. Ikaris, an Eternal, brought his leader Ajak to Alaska and lured her into a trap where the Deviants, led by Kro, killed her.[1]
