A Continued Commitment to Service and Support
As we celebrate National Veterans and Military Families Month this November and recently honored the bravery of our men and women who served during Veterans Day, NPower remains steadfast in its mission to serve and uplift veterans and military families. This month, and every month, we are reminded of the unique challenges military-connected individuals face—both during their service and as they transition to civilian life.
At NPower, we are committed to recognizing, supporting, and empowering veterans and active-duty service members every day. We continue to see the immense value that military experience brings to the workforce—traits like leadership, resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving, which are critical in the fast-evolving world of technology.
In addition to honoring our military-connected communities this month, we are proud to recognize National Apprenticeship Week 2024 (November 17-23). This week highlights the importance of apprenticeship programs in creating pathways to meaningful careers, and NPower’s apprenticeship program continues to break down barriers and create opportunities for veterans in the tech industry. In recognition of National Apprenticeship Week, I recently had the opportunity to highlight the vital role paid apprenticeships play in filling talent gaps in tech and other sectors, and how they provide individuals with pathways to great-paying jobs on Bloomberg Businessweek Live—listen to the podcast segment here (starts at 15:04)
This month, we are excited to highlight the achievements of Jonathan Pride, U.S. Army veteran and Vice President of Field Operations at NPower, alongside our spotlight on Michael Fugett, a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran, NPower Texas graduate, and Vice President at Citi.
Thank you to everyone who supports NPower’s mission. Together, we are not just helping veterans find jobs; we are helping them build careers that honor their service, strengthen their families, and enrich our communities.

NPower and Command Shift Release the Equation for Equality Index 2024
|
|
NPower and Command Shift are excited to announce the release of the Equation for Equality Index 2024, an important update to the groundbreaking research developed by NPower and Lightcast. This year’s Index sheds light on key trends affecting women in tech, including a significant milestone: underrepresented women of color now make up more than 6.5% of the tech workforce—marking the first time this has occurred.
The 2024 Index also introduces regional profiles for Atlanta, Dallas, D.C., and New York—critical cities where NPower is currently running its transformative Path2TECH program. This data was featured at the AnitaB.org 2024 Grace Hopper Celebration, where Candice Dixon, Executive Director of the Command Shift Coalition had the privilege of presenting during the panel, From Data to Action: Activating Diversity in Tech for Lasting Equity.
While the Equation for Equality Index highlights meaningful progress, it also reveals key opportunities for creating clear pathways for women to enter and thrive in tech. At NPower, we are leveraging this data to inform and shape initiatives like the Diversity Directive and our Path2TECH program—both designed to equip women with the skills needed to excel in the tech industry.
