Lachy Hulme (born April 1, 1971) portrays both Immortan Joe and Rizzdale Pell in George Miller's 2024 film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Biography[]
Lachy Hulme is an actor and screenwriter, mainly of film and television. He is known for his role as "Sparks" in the films The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions and for appearing in television series such as Offspring and Romper Stomper.
A good friend of filmmaker George Miller, Hulme was originally cast in the role of Rizzdale Pell for Furiosa. He found himself discussing the death of Hugh Keays-Byrne, who portrayed Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road, with Miller. Miller had suggested that he might just get a body double to portray Immortan Joe, but Hulme offered himself for the role instead, stating that somebody needed to step in for Keays-Byrne and that he could do it.[1]
