Love Island Quebec (or L'île de l'amour) is a French-Canadian dating reality show based on the British series Love Island. The first season premiered on September 12, 2021 on TVA and is scheduled to air its third season in 2023.
History[]
On October 26, 2020, it was announced that the media company Quebecor Content had acquired the rights to produce a French-Canadian adaption of the British reality series.[1] On March 31, 2021, it was announced that Naadei Lyonnais would be hosting the series with Mehdi Bousaidan serving as the narrator.[2] The first season premiered on TVA on September 12, 2021.
On January 4, 2023, it was announced that Lyonnais and Bousaidan would not be returning for the third season.[3] The following day, it was revealed that Canadian singer Olivier Dion would serve as the new host and on February 21, Canadian actress Geneviève Schmidt was announced as the new narrator for the series.[4][5]
Villa[]
The first season was filmed in a villa located in Los Cabos, Mexico.[6] Filming was later relocated to Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic for the second and third season.
