"The Ascetic" was a moniker given to a female Mystic from Rhûn in the Second Age.
Biography[]
The Ascetic, with two associates known simply as "The Dweller" and "The Nomad", journeyed west out of Rhûn into the Rhovanion Hills. They go here searching for "The Stranger", believing him to be Sauron returned.
Some days after his arrival in the form of a meteorite, the trio discover the charred crater left behind and track the Stranger to the Greenwood, where they tell him of his supposed identity. The Stranger recovers his memory, however, and opposes the Mystics, leading them to realize he is not Sauron, but one of the Istari. The Stranger then disintegrates them by channeling his power through the Dweller's staff.[1]
It was later revealed the Mystics served the Dark Wizard.[2]

The Ascetic's character was created for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. She is portrayed by Kali Kopae.
