Strider is the tenth chapter of Book One of The Fellowship of the Ring.
Plot[]
Strider, who had at first seemed menacing, turns out to be friendly. The innkeeper, Barliman Butterbur, gives Frodo a late letter from Gandalf, which informs him that Strider is a friend of Gandalf whose real name is Aragorn.
