Snowblind Studios was the video game developer based in Washington that developed and released The Lord of the Rings: War in the North in 2011 - the company since then became a part of Monolith Productions, the makers of the later RPG Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Snowblind Studios was founded in Bothell, Washington in 1997, and for a decade they developed eight video games (such as Baldur's Gate) for many different platforms. In 2009, as War in the North was in the works, Snowblind became a part of the mass media company Time Warner. The Studios' headquarters were last based in Kirkland, Washington, until in 2010, it was relocated to Monolith Productions, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (a division of Time Warner).
Once War in the North was released, for Mac OS X, Play Station 3, Xbox 360, and Windows, the studio became wholly merged into Monolith - thus Snowblind Studios is considered defunct as of 2012. On their website, there is no recent, dated news since 2010.
