[...] We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind.

Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!

And so I'm happy, tonight.
I'm not worried about anything.
I'm not fearing any man!

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!!

（訳） この先には険しい日々が待ち受けています。でも今の自分には、それはもう本当にどうでもいいこと。何故なら、私はもうあの山頂に行ったからです。だから、囚われない。

誰でもそうであるように、私も長生きしたい。長寿はいいものです。でも今はもう、そんなことには拘らない。ただ神の意のまま実行したい、それだけです。

主は私に、山頂に登ることをお許しになった。そして私は山の向こうを見た。そして私はそこに、約束の地を見たのです。

みなさんと一緒にそこには辿り着けないかもしれない。でも今晩、みなさんに是非ともこれだけは知っていただきたい。私たちは全国民一丸となって、きっと必ずや、あの約束の地に辿り着く！

だから、私は幸せです。この夜。
心配することは何もない。
怖い相手は誰もいない！
