I finally took the Paris, Texas pill.
A film full of beautiful shots you could hang on the wall, full of sound-bites you could sample. There’s so much substance here; and that’s before you even begin to talk about the story, the acting (how impressive is Hunter?), the scene where they mirror each other walking down the street, or the parking lot finale.
Paris, Texas is the result of when everything comes together through the consideration of care. It’s lonely, then it’s not, then it’s warm, then it’s cold, then it’s lonely again. An experience in which everyone will take something different away—which makes it one of the most immersive films I’ve ever seen. For a runtime of this length, not a minute feels wasteful.
Yeah—it’s very, very good.
