Nobody Knows 2004
children so accustomed to silence and acceptance — one being told off when she plays with nail varnish. one getting shunned when he attempts to mess about with boys playing video games. another feeling deserted (yet again) by a new found friend. and the eldest, a 12 year old loaded with great emotional and physical responsibilty, finally finding bliss in playing a sport that was once just a dream, only to return to a position heavier than his (already) critical…

Where Is the Friend's House? 1987
1/3 of the Koker Trilogy
a boy although daunted by those of age, makes constant decisions to listen actively but selectively. never as a lack of respect, but an innocent desire to listen to his heart. resonating with him felt straightforward and convenient.

Decalogue III 1989
ah, when you've long invested in building the present, but the past taps you on the shoulder. you look back, hesitate, yet choose to follow - but how far can you step back before it swallows the path you've so carefully built?

after all, “a soul selects her own society”. but remember, the flip side of that selection closes the valves of one’s attention
watching-rewatching tár mimics the sensation of listening to an unfamiliar, new piece of music when we tend to (initially) focus on only one component at a time—may it be structure, rhythm, melody or lyric, all individually and equally overwhelming. then eventually towards your third, fourth, fifth listen, your mind begins to automatically bind every component that you’ve unconsciously…
