M. Night knew exactly what he was doing when Josh Hartnett went shirtless for *that* scene.
Night is so underrated as a director, he always on top of his game. There are some shots from his filmography that I can’t wrap my head about it, especially this one, some amazing tricks, especially playing with depth. And also, he is the best dad in Hollywood right now, I mean, Saleka is in the film (come on, he made a film about fatherhood located at a concert just for his daughter to shine with her AMAZING songs) and there is a ‘The Watchers’ billboard (film from his daughter).
Josh Hartnett as the Butcher is a terrible choice because I just can’t ignore it but simpatize with him. This man is so hot, he could’ve just confessed to me and I would stand by his side—Fresh 2022 vibes—what I mean is, he’s INCREDIBLE in this role, his character is kinda dumb, his expressions is everything, really a mad man.
This film is perfect when it comes to playing with perspective and subjectivity. The stage rule. The bathroom scene with Lady Raven. Simply amazing and stunning storytelling! We never know more than the characters that we are following.
