I think it's so funny that no matter how many times I see this Matt Damon is and always will be a complete and total jumpscare.
Nolan turns all of what we value to ground ourselves in reality and morphs that into a balancing act that illustrates the true scale of space like never before and never again. Terrifying but never evil. I still think some of the story elements, particularly a lot at the end, feel a bit rushed and half-thought-through, but it almost feels like the movie itself didn't find all that necessary in the grand scheme. This movie feels and it gets you feeling. It's so big in ways like no other, and it's definitely Nolan at his most vulnerable, showcasing that love, the one thing we can never explain, is really all we hold onto in the end.
