Fifteen years on and Erik Bäckström (Rolf Lassgård) is sent back to Norrland to assist on a missing person's case. One of the lead investigators, Torsten (Peter Stormare) also happens to be stepfather to Erik's nephew, Peter. Erik is not convinced that their primary suspect is guilty, which soon puts him on a collision course with Torsten. Again written and directed by Kjell Sundvall, False Trail (Jägarna 2) is a worthy sequel that improves on the strengths of the first film whilst being an enjoyable stand alone crime drama in its own right. You'll suss out the culprit early on, the fun comes from working out the whys, hows and whether they will be brought to justice.
