This review may contain spoilers.
Warning: This review will contain spoilers! I will divide this into two sections, one with spoilers and one without, so that way people who haven't yet seen the movie won't worry about spoilers. With that out of the way, let's get into the review!
This movie freaking rules. It's a hilarious, heartfelt, raunchy and action-packed buddy comedy that absolutely delivers on every level and isn't just a mindless cameo fest, but a movie about friendship at its core. It’s also filled with tons of surprises that will make any Marvel fan happy. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are both amazing as Deadpool and Wolverine and they are both given amazing arcs that were immensely satisfying. The action in this movie kicks ASS, especially the opening fight scene and the final battle. On top of being extremely violent (don't take your kids to see this), the action sequences are visually stunning and beautifully choreographed. The needle drops in this movie are absolutely insane and I love this movie’s use of Madonna’s Like a Prayer and the soundtrack in this is so good. The cameos in this movie do not disappoint, there are some serious surprises in this movie that I was NOT expecting. This is everything that Multiverse of Madness should've been. I also loved how this movie takes time to focus on the characters and develop them instead of just being nothing but jokes and violence. This is also hands-down the funniest movie in the MCU, I was laughing at all the jokes and gags and my face actually hurt from laughing so hard. This movie makes fun of so many things (especially Disney) and it's freaking HYSTERICAL at times. There are also so many references and Easter eggs jam-packed into this movie and it felt so good to understand all of the references. One last thing I'll say before getting into spoilers is that I had a lot of fun with this movie! This is basically a tribute to the Fox era of Marvel and this was such a blast to see on the big screen. I loved this movie and I'd highly recommend it if you are a Marvel fan. Now onto spoilers! Seeing Laura/X-23 return was awesome! She was one of the best parts of Logan and I'm so glad she got to return. Not only that, but I’m pretty sure that I have a crush on Dafne Keen now after watching this. It was also really cool to see Wesley Snipes reprise his role as Blade and Jennifer Garner return as Elektra (Jennifer Garner still looks really hot today and that's crazy to me). It was also so cool to see Gambit, my favorite X-Men member, finally make his big screen debut! Gambit was definitely my favorite cameo in this movie! Chris Evans also returns as Human Torch in this movie and that was really cool to see. I love how Deadpool and Wolverine go from hating each other to learning how to work together and I loved all the different variants of Deadpool and Wolverine, especially Nicepool, Dogpool and Ladypool. Seeing Henry Cavill as Wolverine was really cool too. I also loved seeing Happy in this and seeing Wolverine finally dawn a comic-accurate suit and mask made me feel like a little kid again. The final act where Deadpool and Wolverine cut through all the Deadpool variants and then work together to save the Sacred Timeline while Madonna's Like a Prayer plays in the background was epic! That’s all I really have to say when it comes to spoilers.
At the end of the day, I can't recommend this movie enough. This was a massive W for Marvel and one of the best movies in the MCU and it’s easily the best Deadpool movie. Thanks for reading my review!
